The only "jamming" that's going on is that there's a lot of people trying to talk on the same freq. I haven't seen any reports of actual jamming being posted from the people monitoring SATERN (ham radio net under SalArm aegis).
Guy being interviewed by Geraldo says you can HEAR people pounding on the roofs of their attics and screaming for help. Good God.
I watched WWL for about 30 minutes the other night and won't turn it back on. I found them pretty offensive.

I don't have television show, but I am standing up for the President and I'm taking notes. I'm listening to Bobby Jindal and he is just another prig as far as I'm concerned. These people who claim to be for personal responsibility and self government cannot now stand up and claim that the federal government dropped the ball. FEMA did game this out in 2004 and they expected that "The state of Louisiana had resources to operate shelters for three to five days, and plans were made for how federal and other sources could replenish those."
Five days without food, water and breathable air and that pounding and screaming will be stopping soon.
Did you just see the piece on the Reliant building and how they are taking care of people in Houston?
The lady said they gave them all they needed, especially love.
My question, where are the other states? I am happy Texas is helping out, but what about New Mexico, Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee etc...???
I've heard two evacuees say they are so ashamed because the folks that are there to help them have been shot at.
Agreed - I've slept in my car on trips when I didn't want to bother with a hotel. It's not too unpleasant.
Does anyone know what happened to the BellSouth building where the 100 firemen and families were battling it out with the looter thugs?

I am nauseated by the total lack of truth about the response to this disaster.
I knew how big the storm was from looking at the loops here on FR. I didn't know ALL the ramifications of the storm, but....I was concerned by the non-existent leardership of the N.O. mayor and the La. Gov. before Katrina hit!
I wasn't the only one.......many here on FR knew we were in for a bad disaster!
What was wrong with the La, leaders? Could they not see it? Or were they thinking, "it will turn, as it always does".
That seemed to be the case on Monday, from watching reporters say, N.O. dodged the bullet.
The so-called tension in this Country about racisim has been fabricated and instigated by Jessie, Al Sharpton, the dems and their followers.
The dirth of leadership and guidance, of the LA government....is what should be in question.
Do the race baiting people out there not realize that the whites & blacks in this Country, are the ones taking in, feeding and clothing the blacks & and whites that have been displaced by this weather disaster?
I have news for some of the folks out there.....
It's not the dems that are doing these kind & compassionate things! I'm sure there are some out there though!
Will people be surprised that the largest majority of givers and those that house & clothe....will prove in the end to be us Conservatives!
I am convinced that the lack of accommodating the people of N.O. by the State of La. is simply CRIMINAL!!!
They need to be brought up on charges immediately!
I think our Country has done the best it could do, in the circumstance!

the shock of watching the after effects,
roadways blocked by debris,
the endless parade of people that would NOT/COULD not leave the flood of water,
the thugs that want to take over the city,
the fires,
the people trapped for one reason or another,
too many things to even name!
Our Military and those that are commanding them (including their Commander-in Chief) are heros!!!
God bless every one of them. They always pull us through! And they are to be honored!
As Americans, we need patience...lots of it.

Wow - that helps a lot when a large portion of the city's poor don't have cars and use public transportation of their main means of getting around. Maybe Naign (or his replacement) will add the school busses are sitting under water to the 'plan'.
OK, I now see a reason why emergency reduction in the water level outweighs environmental concerns. It is a calculus too horrible to be calculated. I sit corrected.
Good analysis, cwb. I'm learning more about Louisiana politics, than I ever wanted to. Now Blanco is going to learn just how fast her fellow Dems will turn on her. She and Nagin ought to be run out of town on a rail.
WWL is doing the same thing. I have not heard them say one word against the leaders down there. But, they are being very critical of President Bush and the few helicopters that are available due to their being in Iraq.
