Been thinking about moving to Salmon Idaho. Makes it feel more of a good idea. Or maybe join my dad in Jeff Davis County, TX...

Being a Simpson's fan, there's been a melody stuck in my head for a couple days. From the episode called 'A Streetcar Named Marge'
. Long before the Superdome,
. Where the Saints of football play,
. There's a city where the damned call home,
. Hear their hellish rondelet:
.
. New Orleans!
. Home of pirates, drunks, and whores...
. New Orleans!
. Tacky, overpriced souvenir stores...
.
. If you want to go to hell, you should take a trip
. To the Sodom and Gomorrah of the Mississip':
.
. New Orleans!
. Stinking, rotten, vomiting, vile...
. New Orleans!
. Putrid, brackish, maggotty, foul...
.
. New Orleans!
. Crummy, lousy, rancid and rank...
. New Orleans!

Darn right. I sent this to all my buddies minutes after it came out. They said that I was a doomsday nut just like many of the folks in the dome thought.
Do you think some folks want a do-over?

lol I just call Mr. Matthews Sissy boy :) I know it's really too complimentary but what can I say...I hate these "journalists" (I know it's a strong word but these folks deserve it) in this order:
Cafferty
Odorman (like your nickname for the cretin)
Matthews
Miles O'Brien (he may be moving up the list though after they way he treated MS governor)
there are more but these are the ones that endanger my tv when they appear..

It's about power. Great series of posts you put together there, and the essential point boils down to three words.
That plays between the politicians, and it plays with the thugs.

Along this line, there was a report of nursing home residents being robbed and then turned out into the water-logged street by looters, who the staff surmised were looking for narcotics. They stormed the place, robbed and hit residents, then just yelled, "Get out! Get out!" while brandishing weapons. The staff loaded the residents in wheelchairs and began pushing them out into the water, where they were all later rescued. Don't ask for links, I heard a nurse relaying the story on one of the news channels (WWL?) a day or two ago.

I found Monday mornings Seattle paper with the a huge headline and huge photo of the evacuation (traffic jam - but only on one side of the highway!!!). The article was very, very doom and gloom (and turned out fairly accurate - 80% under water, etc.).

Mike Parker Former Army Corps of Engineers Chief stated on MSNBC that the Office of Administrations and Budgets is the problem. Parker stated that having truthful info being filtered through the Office of Administrations and Budgets to Congress will not work. The project for the construction for the levees in NO to sustain a category 3 hurricane is a 40 year old still incomplete job as of today per Mike Parker.
