Tancredo Predicts GOP Immigration Clash -- "Believe me, it will be one hell of a fight"

President Bush and House conservatives are on a collision course over the contentious issue of immigration reform, Rep. Tom Tancredo (R.-Colo.) said Thursday.

Tancredo, chairman of the House Immigration Reform Caucus and author of the REAL GUEST Act (HR 3333), said he expects Bush to embrace legislation drafted by Senators Teddy Kennedy (D.-Mass.) and John McCain (R.-Ariz.). Conservatives strongly oppose the bill, which Tancredo said is tantamount to amnesty.

Tancredo’s bill instead focuses on enforcement, particularly on companies that employ illegal immigrants. He said once illegal workers are denied jobs, they will no longer flood into the United States.

“If you stop illegal employment in this country—some big, high-profile cases with . . .

Actually, I voted for Bush because of judges, guns, and because John Kerry sucks.

He broke his term limit promise and since hooking up with Buchanan has been spewing extremist anti-Hispanic hate speech for the purpose of soliciting contributions.

It has nothing to do with the race of the ILLEGAL immigrant, but everything to do with their ILLEGAL status.

Most of the FReepers who support him are just the old Buchanan Bush-hating third party losers.

Most FReepers, including myself, are Bush-voters/supporters who are deeply dissappointed by his lack of concern/urgency on border security and immigration enforcement, and willingness to roll-over for Fox and more PAC money from corporations who exploit ILLEGAL immigrants for sub-standard wages, no payroll taxes, no workers comp, etc.. All of which causes harm to hard-working Americans looking for a good-paying job.

If you want some insight into Bush's stance on Illegal Immigration, here's some interesting comments by associates of Bush's Attorney General Ablerto Gonzales (La Raza Member)

"We have an aging white America. They are not making babies. They are dying. The explosion is in our population... I love it. They are sh!tting in their pants with fear. I love it.... We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him."

~ Jose Angel Gutierrez, professor, Founder of La Raza Unida political party

"I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders and that Mexican migrants are an important - a very important - part of this."
~ Ernesto Zedillo, Former President of Mexico, speach to La Raza in Chicago, July 23, 1997.

"California is going to be a Hispanic State and anyone who doesn't like it should leave. They should go back to Europe."
~ Mario Obledo, President of the Californian Coalition of Hispanic Organisations, June 1998, Founder of La Raza Lawyers Association

Yep, and if there is no America left, given that we have 10 - 20 million here now, and 20+ more come running for the next amnesty, not to mention the plan Bush and Kolbe support to merge our borders by 2010, none of those 'other' issues will matter.

I agree with Tancredo, if you have some VERY high profile business CEO shown on perp walks for hiring illegals...you dry up a lot of the reason for them to be here. Then you deny ALL illegals ANY benefits of this nation ie; education, health care, welfare, property ownership...etc.

Third should be anchor babies. No automatic citizenship for these children or at least deport them along with their parents and when the child becomes 18, they can return.

People say we need these illegals to do jobs Americans won't do. I say as long as 5% of AMERICANS are unemployed, we don't need illegals.

Bayourod is NOT a liar.

He is a profits over security, business over the american people OBLoony.

Anti illegal emigration has never been a winning issue.

But it will be this election. Wake up and pay attention, the hand writing is on the wall, the republican party ignores it at their peril.

That is all I have to say on this issue, the next two elections will either prove me right or wrong.

I think people with your attitude are going to be the ones scratching their heads wondering why:

a) Hillary won the election in 2008
b) Why so many people voted for a third party or didn't vote at all

So you'd prefer a Representative who focuses on several issues like:

increasing gov't spending,
"fixing" the UN,
sending more "aid" money around the world,
continuing to be bogged down in Iraq,
expanding Medicare,
expanding the Dept of Education,
passing CAFTA,
getting lots of pork attached to the highway bill,
expanding the federal police state via the TSA and DHS,
...

??

"However, once the president and vice president twisted their arms and promised them goodies in the highway bill and sugar subsidies, they reversed themselves and CAFTA was passed during the wee hours of the morning."

This sounds like people I can't wait to vote for again.

/sarcasm

What are you talking about? He lies in nearly every thread when he accuses anti-illegals of racism, with nothing whatsoever to back it up. When pressed, he'll just insist that speaking against illegals, or advocating English-only policies, is itself racism, which, needless to say, is preposterous.

Whoever you are, you should not vote. You appear to be a lower demographic type because of your lack of knowledge of history and your misuse of the English language.

I am a person on the border with Hispanics intermarriages and I have three post secondary degrees, as do most of my relatives down here.

We are all opposed to illegal immigration for many reasons. We do not see your scenario as realistic.

The maquiladora program already did its bit and fell to China et al. The management of those companies tended to be American.

WE VOTE.

The people that benefit from illegal emigrants vote.. The people opposed to illegal emigrants tend to be lower demographic types who don't vote. Anti illegal emigration has never been a winning issue.

How does one "emigrate" illegally? Unless you are wanted by your home nation for a crime and you leave emigrating is easy: You just leave.

Now. Illegal immagration is another matter altogether. I am against illegal immigrants wholeheartedly.

By the way, if you wish to emigrate from the U.S., either legally or illegally, be my guest.

You gotta figure he's really just doing this for the sport of it. So if he claims he's being "stalked," it's a case of the hunter becoming the hunted. Besides, an actual stalker digs into your IP account and figures out where you live, your bank account information, etc. This is just tiddly-winks in comparison.

And let's remind ourselves once again how he recently posted an article written by Cardinal Roger Mahoney, the scumbag who spent decades enabling pedophile priests to violate young boys. Mahoney does nothing about these vile crimes, then believes he has moral authority to talk about other issues such as illegal immigration. Not exactly the sort of person I'd use to make my point, but obviously swampy has different standards.
