President Bush and House conservatives are on a collision course over the contentious issue of immigration reform, Rep. Tom Tancredo (R.-Colo.) said Thursday.
Tancredo, chairman of the House Immigration Reform Caucus and author of the REAL GUEST Act (HR 3333), said he expects Bush to embrace legislation drafted by Senators Teddy Kennedy (D.-Mass.) and John McCain (R.-Ariz.). Conservatives strongly oppose the bill, which Tancredo said is tantamount to amnesty.
Tancredos bill instead focuses on enforcement, particularly on companies that employ illegal immigrants. He said once illegal workers are denied jobs, they will no longer flood into the United States.
If you stop illegal employment in this countrysome big, high-profile cases with . . .

Hence, I am totally immune to the arguments of the open-borders types. At best, I regard them as sheltered Northeasterers who have no idea what we're up against; at worse, if they know what they are supporting, they are traitors who deserve the firing squad.Five years ago they may have been sheltered, but this problem has spread all over the country, so by this point they're either blinkered, or they have something to gain personally from it (e.g., running a business that hires illegals).
And after reading reports on TB and leprosy coming to the East Coast, anyone who thinks they can shelter themselves from airborne diseases is a fool, and a soon-to-be-dead one. The biggest irony is, those who think they're most protected because of their financial wealth often hire illegal aliens as nannies and housekeepers, so they're probably first in line to catch whatever plague is out there.
Yeah, I remember SoCal in its glory days too. I'm not ready to give up on it yet, although some days that ain't easy.

Whoa!
Even though Ohio isn't exactly Kennebunkport, many of us in the Northern States will make a stand against the administration's capitulation to the mexicans at the expense of Americans...........
We're with you!!!

Excellent research. Knowing the OBL track record he will not be able to refute the facts, and will respond with "where did you find that out, stormfront?" And then the next day on another thread he will deny that he calls other people nazis.
Again, good show!

Tancredo is as good as any and better than most all Republicans in Congress on his voting record as a Conservative PLUS, he is the leader of the save America (my title) coalition that has formed and is growing depite the efforts of George Bush and his entire administration including Chertoff, the Homeland Insecurity Chief...
If you are an American citizen and you cherish our history, our country, our Constitution, and our future as the Sovereign United States, you can't afford to support anyone other than Tancredo...

Thanks for your ping on post #231. Tancredo is not only right on immigration, but on most other issues important to conservatives. Those critics who have a problem with Tancredo are pushing an agenda that is decidedly nonconservative.
