The Congressional Black Caucus press conference is exploding in indignation at the President's lack of response. First, Elijiah Cummings blasted him. Now it is Jesse Jackson Jr's turn.
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
I am so upset, HOPPING ANGRY...YOU KNOW WHAT SCREW THEM! I was going to donate more money, but this little circus on the tube just broke the camels back...SCREW THEM...F'IN BASTARDS!!
Can't decide if they are evil or just morons.
I'm so glad FOX cut them off!! KUDOS to them!
I almost hit the abuse button but realized it's the black caucus and this crap is to be expected. This actually comes under the heading of a "dog bites man" type story in that it's a completely predictable common occurrence and not news. However, I think dog bites man is an apt analogy in this instance.
Don't worry the impeach Bush for the disaster crowd has probably already got the bumper stickers ready. Got to protect their other Rats. I wonder why their not down helping out.
Now isn't that the coffee calling the kettle black. The President got back to Washington 3 days after and the Congress got back 4 days after but emergency funding was needed on day 1.
This is a shock to me! I would have never guessed that the Black Caucus would have a complaint.
Thanks for saving my life but where is my steak dinner?
As regards the Nat Guard troops and security, the Governor of the state of Louisiana always had the power to deploy the LA guard in the fashion that other state troops are being deployed today. It is her failure to do so that has prompted the President to get the help from other states.
As regards New Orleans and the Superdome, the Mayor of New Orleans, who ordered all those people into the superdome (and he only did that IMHO after he and the Governor were leaned on by the Bush administration) had the power to bus them out of the city at the same time. The City of New Orleans moves many more children each day on school buses than were in the dome. Those buses were available and slated to be used for school the next day. He could easily have evacuted those people...but did not.
When oredering a mandatory evacuation you use what resources you have to move the people...he did not. If it was important and dangerous enough to order all citizens to leave, it was dangerous enough to help those people to leave. Yet, they did not. After they failed to do so...the busses ended up under water and useless.
In the end, it was FEMA, after the local and state government's failure that had to get the job done...but now under much, much worse and dangerous circumstances.
No, it is not Bush's fault or the fed's fault. We must place blame squarely where it lies at the feet of the local and state executives in Louisiana who had neither the desire or the will to make those calls, irrespective of their political stripe.
LOL!
You know, I was upset about the slow response but now this despicable racemongering is really making me mad. WHY do they always have to make it about race?
Are they trying to incite a damn race war? Whipping up the rest of Black America. What to the hell are they thinking?
Was this an example of uniting rather than dividing?
Playing the race card might blow up in their face this time.
"Those citizens have paid taxes!"
RIIIIIGHT. I'm sure most of the those looters were really contributing a lot.
This is like Maxine Waters in Los Angeles and the Rodney Kink trial all over again. These idiots are going to spark another race riot.
I guess they're group-thinking the victims as blacks. This is their M.O. If that is so then the looters, rapists and snipers are also group-thought as black.
