I only relied on what was said. After the fact I now can check it out on the net and see that it was built to withstand 200 mph winds. However the Superdome is also 34 years old. Reports on the TV channels covering the storm as it passed expressed concern that the damage could have spread from the area that had peeled off.Since the hurricane decreased from a Category 5 to Category 4 I guess we will never know what may have happened. With regard to the 200mph thing I saw way too many unbelievable things in Andrew to consider this as flat out valid.

In any event I think it has been proven obvious that cramming 20000 people in there with nowhere to go was bad preparation. Don’t you?

Waiting to hear where you would have put thousands of helpless, infirm, ill, drug addicted....etc etc etc people as a last resort shelter.
