A better cause? These people just lost EVERYTHIING! EVERYTHING. I'd be pretty mad at God right now too. You have no idea what you would do in those circumstances. I'm not saying what they did was right, but to punish because some people will just naturally do the wrong thing is absurd and it makes me think you're just looking for a way out of giving money. Shame on you.

Hildy has been a prime example. She labeled me a nazi for supporting the idea that looters should be shot and a hard line stance be taken.
Instead, the government did what she idealized - let the looters rampage - and death and destruction followed. However, no remorse or admitting she was wrong has taken place.
They oppose it b/c the long term consequences would be far more deadly than the short-term gain. The Dems WANT us to shoot the looters! It is just the political fallout they need for ammo in the next election (local, state, or executive branch, take your pick).
Or better yet, they'd love to start a second civil war. Not too far-fetched, as picking off "poor downtrodden looters" one by one is a sure-fire way to start such a civil war. Yes, it is the lawful thing to do, but not the politically wise thing to do (unless of course, you WANT the Dems in the White House).
There are several FReepers who think it is perfectly acceptable to loot "specific items" that they need. - (ie. food, water, medicine)
What they fail to understand is that what one "needs" is a relative term.
