Some of the scenes of the lawless thugs are beginning to resemble a rap video.

sshhh...you'll anger the freeper looter apologist brigade. I was labled a nazi for suggesting that looters be shot. Instead, we should let them roam free, gain strength, boldness, and weapons, and have them kill and rape innocent people.

Some freepers just want to wring their hands and sing kumbaya for the looters...

someone's looting, my lord, kumbaya
someone's rapping, my lord, kumbaya,
someone's killing, my lord, kumbaya,
someone's dying, my lord, kumbaya,
oh lord, kumbaya

"John Carolan was sitting on his porch in the thick, humid darkness just before midnight Tuesday when three or four young men, one with a knife and another with a machete, stopped in front of his fence and pointed to the generator humming in the front yard. [One] said, 'We want that generator.' [Carolan responded] 'I fired a couple of rounds over their heads with a .357 Magnum . . . they scattered. You've heard of the law west of the Pecos? This is the law west of Canal Street.'"

Aim lower, next time.

The city of New Orleans is descending rapidly into a state of anarchy just when organization and cooperation are most essential. The New York Times reported one scene that is emblematic: "John Carolan was sitting on his porch in the thick, humid darkness just before midnight Tuesday when three or four young men, one with a knife and another with a machete, stopped in front of his fence and pointed to the generator humming in the front yard. [One] said, 'We want that generator.' [Carolan responded] 'I fired a couple of rounds over their heads with a .357 Magnum . . . they scattered. You've heard of the law west of the Pecos? This is the law west of Canal Street.'"

The Second Amendment in action.

Regardless of the situation, NO ONE is above the law, at any time. These people have set a very bad example, and are not exemplary of good New Orleans citizens.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes again.

The President should simply declare martial law in New Orleans and send in the Army. Anyone looting will be shot on sight.

Enough PC hand-wringing. Shot to kill.

Anarchy cannot be tolerated.

Hurricane Aussies fear for safety

September 02, 2005

Excerpt

AUSTRALIANS trapped in flood-ravaged New Orleans are in fear of their lives as the city descends into lawlessness.

Tourists stranded in the US Gulf Coast city and sheltering in its huge Superdome sports stadium in the wake of Hurricane Katrina have told of shootings, rapes and looting, and are growing increasingly concerned for their safety.

More than 50 Australians are believed to be trapped in New Orleans and surrounding areas.

Brisbane man Peter McNeil said his 22-year-old son John was stranded in New Orleans but had now moved with other foreigners out of the Superdome for their own protection.

Violence and racist behaviour had forced the group, including about 10 Australians, to take refuge in a hotel lobby after seeing people raped and murdered, he said.

"It's a real racist issue, apparently, between the locals, and they were segregated, and John said they would stab you as soon as look at you," Mr McNeil told ABC radio.

"He's never been so scared in his life. He just said they had to get out of the dark otherwise, another night, he said, they would have gone.

"He said the tension was just building so much it was impossible to stay in there."

Tim and Joanne Miller, from Rockhampton in Queensland, have also made contact with their family in Australia. They said they were too scared to move.

"The violence there is escalating. There are shootings – they've now got three dead bodies at the bottom of the stairwell where they are," their daughter Kelly-Rae Smith told ABC radio.

"There's so much violence going on there. It shows you how much violence when the SWAT (police) team locked themselves in their building."

Looting chaos hits New Orleans relief effort

September 01, 2005

Excerpt...

But security problems were clearly preventing police, fire officers and other rescue workers from getting to people in need as the Deep South came to resemble the Wild West.

Just outside New Orleans, gunmen held up a supply truck carrying food, water, medical supplies and pharmaceuticals, prompting officials to ask police and the US Coast Guard to help evacuate a working 203-bed hospital.

Some of the most graphic descriptions of the chaos have come from a blog run by employees of Directnic, a domain name registrar, who have stayed in the city to keep the company's servers going. One, who described himself as a security expert, wrote:

"It is a zoo out there though, make no mistake. It's the wild kingdom. It's Lord of the Flies.

"That doesn't mean there's murder on every street corner. But what it does mean is that the rule of law has collapsed, that there is no order, and that property rights cannot and are not being enforced. Anyone who is on the streets is in immediate danger of being robbed and killed. It's that bad."

www.livejournal.com/users/interdictor,

Reported that dozens of New Orleans police officers had simply abandoned their posts.

Rescue crews report that they cannot enter some areas because of rampant violence. Hospitals report that patience are dying because groups of one hundred or more thugs are preventing them from leaving, and are trying to steal all the ambulances. So far Guardsmen have been shot at. Rescue crews have been shot at. A policeman was shot in the head, and people are being robbed blind, murdered, assaulted, and raped. And so far as I know, no one has fired back. No official declaration of Martial Law.

Another thought: Don't the warm and fuzzy local TV people go on at odious lengths about putting something by in case of emergency, like some water or sandwiches? Great Ceasar's ghost, we get the lecture everytime we are scheduled to get more than an inch of snow.

Real easy to say "Shoot the looters!" Yahoo!

I agree. I'm sure the cops down there agree too. Except that they're outnumbered and out gunned. What are they supposed to do when surrounded by this? Call for backup?

No, if these cops don't commit suicide, I guess they're a bunch of liberals!

I have no problem with the hardcore looters being shot, if that's what it takes. There are thousands of people in N.O. still needing food, water, and medicine. They aren't going to get it until these criminals are stopped.

We all have seen (On Fox News)the black Nawlins policeman leveling his shotgun at a loot-laden black (as if to say we shoot looters, which of course they don't)who then threw his loot into the gutter.

The problem isn't looting per se. The problem is that looters are shooting and killing other citizens for simple possessions. As the mayor said, they are looking for drugs. But they have no compunction about killing people to get it. Looting must be stopped, lot because of the loss of physical goods but because of the death the looters are bringing.
