They think there are around 8000 at the Astrodome now. That makes me doubly upset about this whole thing.

San Antonio is taking evacuees. Aaron Brown interviewed their mayor earlier tonight.

Notice how Governor Perry pats himself on the back for taking in the "refugees", but doesn't offer up any venues in Austin.

Dallas is taking them, as well. Reunion Arena.

OUCH.

If mathematical elimination is any guide, PNC Park and that thing in KC are available too.

Michael Savage has suggested that Bush immediately stop his plan to close the many large U.S. military bases that already have infrastructure in place and use them to house these desperate refugees.

The overflow are being taken to other centers. [They aren't being turned out on the streets.]

What about Boston? Denver? Berkley? Surely there are other American cities the rest of the evacuees can be taken. Houston does not have the social services available to take on every single evacuee from New Orleans.

Just talked to a friend that is a nurse in San Antonio. They just went to code grey (prepare for influx of disaster victims) all personnel are being called in now.

They are sending victims in from NOL tonight.

Just saw the overhead shot on CNN of the astrodome that place is packed... they have to for safety reason limit it to 25000 that is all the fire Marshall's will allow.

I would say I have to agree with that..

There are already enough tragedies compounding without setting up other potential death traps...

I have seen a lot of small communities along the way are starting to take people in, and they are sending others on to communities that have agreed to take them for the short term. Remember I think we are only hearing half of the story from the MSM... They think they have something they can run the Administration up the flag pole on... That is obvious by how they have politicized their reporting.

Aren't there shelters all over the US that could help?

Every city and church in the country might have opened their doors last week. After what has gone on in NO some authorities may be reluctant. The Superdome is a disaster.

FEMA sucks.
