CNN's Anderson Cooper Losing It -- LIVE!!!
CNN -- live ^ | September 2, 2005 | self - vanity

Posted on 09/01/2005 4:23:09 PM PDT by Poundstone

Anybody watching Anderson Cooper now? He's losing it publicly, blasting Sen. Landrieu, saying she doesn't understand the pain of the New Orleans survivors. He seems traumatized by having witnessed a couple of dead bodies in the streets. Cooper seems like he's descending into madness.

saw a man and a women holding a US Flag attached to a wood staff look up as a helicopter crew filmed them. They look straight at the helicopter and the women released her hold of the flag and the SOB man, a piece of waste throw the flag on the ground. Walk off and would not look at the helicopter again. How disrespectful. He should have stuck the staff into the ground and have Old Glory waving in the breeze.

Stars an Stripes For Ever!!!

Amen on the Stars and Stripes. . .did not see this; but just describing the response of these people makes my blood boil.

the EPA administrator patting himself on the back yesterday for everyone working so hard to get the gasoline regulations scaled back. Whoop-de-freaking-do

LOL! Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow, nor gloom of night, shall keep the bureaucrat from his appointed rounds. ;)

Although there definitely is "Shep bashing" going on on some threads, you are quite correct that some is general reporter bashing. Yes, these reporters live a good life and aren't nearly as prepared for the scenes they witness when they are sent to a devasting tragedy such as this as our military and other professional responders are. I'm not a professional responder either, and I know I'd have a difficult time keeping my emotions in check. I think most of us would have that same reaction. That's why I don't fault them for showing any emotion. I would find it odd if they didn't.

"There are plenty of logical, thoughtful, strong men of every age -- and probably women too -- in among those 20,000"

Culturally these are city people...who depend on the government for most of their services. Many are probably also on public assistance...they are used to blindly doing what the government tells them to. Thus they are stunned to find out they're essentially abandoned at the moment.

I watched interviews and footage of some poor people in rural Mississippi...black and white, who's housing was obliterated. They were very greatful for the help that did come. They spoke about pulling together etc. They thanked America for all the help.
I would have walked out of the city as soon as the storm had passed...gone to the next town to look for shelter. But I've never relied on the government for instructions.

Haven't you heard the theory that Bush actually created this hurricane in an evil laboratory and unleashed it on those poor unsuspecting people??????

"I don't expect her to be a conservative...but since she is a REPORTER, she should not be sounding like a Democratic operative"

Hah! Wolf Blitzers "internet" reporterette specifically pulled up the most virulent anti-bush blogs to blame the president...on "what" the general feeling on this was.

Dat's fer sure. According to the AP: "Federal employees should still be getting paid, even though a New Orleans office handles much of the government payroll, officials said Thursday."

Having been one for many years, I can assure you bureaucrats will always figure out a way to take care of themselves.

[re. . .What on earth is wrong with this bunch who have only been inconvenienced for THREE BLOODY DAYS?]

**Isn't that the damn truth.**

Definitely a 'snap-out-of-it, slap in the face and it feels good. . .

(which not to say; at the same time. . .that I am not sympathetic. . .)

Wolf Blitzer and that knucke-dragging Jack Cafferty were talking the race angle this afternoon, implying that the response was slow because most of those left in New Orleans were black.

I'll bet a $100 bill that that will become a theme over the next week; that George W. Bush neglected NO because most of its inhabitants are black.

You watch.

Apparently it can get worse and Bill Frist was just saying it would on Larry King.

"Cooper seems like he's descending into madness."

He is not descending, HE IS IN THE MIDST OF MADNESS. You would be to if you were there, witnessing humanity devolve back into primitive forms of animal behavior, babies dieing, survival of the fittess. The fit, the wise with gut instincts LEFT LA LONG AGO. LA state officials dropped the ball on the poor and impoverished leaving them to fend off the rank and drug addicted parasites.

I think Cafferty is auditioning to take over Andy Rooney's slot as ancient Lefty curmudgeon.

They need the 'first black president" down there - he can bite his lip and everyone will feel better about the whole situation.

Yes, there will be a race angle. Howard Dean will be screaming about it somewhere in America this weekend.

I have to say I agree here. Granted, we are nice and comfy in our homes, BUT when you hear of gangs shooting at hospital workers, stealing ambulances.... There were lines of boats ready to get people out of there BUT THEY COULDN"T BECAUSE THEY HAD BEEN SHOT AT! The American people are a compassionate people, but these actions are a true black eye to New Orleans

And what about the Bataan survivors? Soviet gulag survivors? The men at the Hanoi Hilton?

You have the post of the year.
