I've heard there have been murders. Probably some gangs are taking this opportunity to take out their rival gang members.
Sad, as this is one of my favorite cities (mock me if you must). I have visited several times and was always treated well (and yes, I ventured OUTSIDE of the quarter). As I said before, the thugs of Treme (one of the worst nabes in America) have taken over. They should be tolerated with extreme prejudice.
