"SOMEONE IS DROPPING THE FREAKIN BALL ROYALLY on this one!!"
You got that right. I was talking with my sister earlier today and niether one of us can believe the lack of preparedness.
Yes, Katrina was a bigger hurricane than initially expected. But what if, instead of a natural disaster, it had been a terrorist attack? What happened to all the disaster planning, preparedness, etc.?
Sigh.

What happened to all the disaster planning, preparedness, etc.? A sham to humiliate us at airports and foist the misnamed Patriot Act on the peasants. That's why I have NOT felt safer the last few years - this disaster is a perfect example of paralysis while the elites sit in their gated communities with fresh drinking water.

This is a country of crybabies. We always need somebody to blame. All things considered they are moving very fast. Unfortunately, the people of New Orleans are not especially civilized and they are shooting at the people who are trying to rescue them.
