Interesting reading that after what has transpired over the last 3 months, huh? I'd say we stuck by the Pres pretty well? I can barely remember the mood I was in when I wrote that thing.
It is going to be quite a year.
You, me and a lotta others have hung right in there. I wish I could say as much for our contingent in the Senate. The GOP in the House are far less wobbly, and even they go too soft. But, for all that, I think GWB has really stuck right in there and run a pretty tight ship. No, he isn't perfect; he's human. I'd be the first to shout "glory, hallelujah" to hear him abandon his insane position on illegal immigration, but, seeing everything that's transpired, and seeing all of the earth-shaking decisions hes had laid on his plate, I wouldn't trade him for any of the others who ran for the job; not in this past election, nor in 2000.
I don't walk lockstep with him, and I'm certainly not a GOP clone, but, when push comes to shove, I voted for him, and I'll find my voice to back him up against all comers.
And, yes, it WILL be quite a year. I predict 2006 will be another significant entry for the history books.
