You just beat me to the punch! I have personally attended a Heritage Foundation luncheon where Barbour was speaking and I was so very impressed with this man. He has presence, bearing and certainly a grasp of reality.

"their "planning"!"
Something akin to the FRENCH planning for Summer Heat????
Seriously, who on earth can plan for such a thing? Even Clinton couldn't EVEN keep sex and talking to a congressman scheduled separately.....talk about poor planning!

Miles O'Brien is an incredible piece of excrement.
He has been running his own personal Warren Commission all morning.
Whose at fault? Whose to blame? Why weren't we ready?
Truly unbelievable.

Again, he is in Baton Rouge, the capital, is he going to question blanco they way he did Haley? F- NO. O'Brien better watch his back. Recent reports on the main thread have the evacuees/refugees leaving the center and trying to break into/hijack cars from the garage. SWAT and NG called to keep order.

I'm sure if this disaster had happened during Slick Willy's watch the MSM would immediately label them "quick to react, smart and courageous."This is exactly what Sen. Landrieu was saying about Gov. Blanco last night in the presser covered by WWL.

An old bit of wisdom comes to mind:
"Them that can, do! Them that can't, talk!!"
The talking heads on CNN and all the other TV outlets, as well as the Democratic "non-leaders" who are taking advantage of this tragic situation for Bush-bashing purposes fit that description perfectly.

Shepard Smith is a joke. It is a mystery why Fox gives this phony such good airtime on the Channel. Roger Ailes for some reason must love this imitation of a reporter. Any of the female reporters on the Fox staff have more credibility.Linda Vester would do an outstanding job on this story - Fox is wasting her talent.

I thought Shepherd Smith was gonna blow a gasket yesterday afternoon. He was just aghast that no one had brought any food or water to the people on the bridges who had been dropped off there after having been plucked off the rooftops. At one point, Shepherd had a woman sitting in the shade of their van with a 5 day old baby. She and several other family members had been forced to their attic after the flooding started. Someone came by in a boat the rescued them, then dropped them off at the highway and told them to walk toward the Superdome. She was exhausted and the baby was burning up. Shep's producer jumped in front of a passing police car and had them take the mother and baby to where they could get treated.

Number 3 is an absolute flat out lie; remember how the press pillored Bush for NOT getting involved fast enough?

Yeah, but they had Plan 3B which pilloried Bush for jumping the gun as their backup plan.
Same old tricks. ; )

I saw that. I have been wondering why they have not airdropped water and MRE's in small pkgs like they did in Afghanistan early on. The gov. could order that without waiting for Federal. Beats me. Seems like all she ccan do is get teary and wring her hands. People are going to start dropping like flies from dehydration and heatstroke. Trucking it in i taking too long.
