Queen's shock at disaster
Support ... Her Majesty |
She told President Bush: I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the deaths and injuries caused by Hurricane Katrina, and the scale of the damage and destruction.
My sympathy goes to you and the people of the United States, especially to the families of those who have lost their lives, to the injured and to all who have been affected by this terrible disaster.
Downing Street said PM Tony Blair sent a letter of condolence for the terrible loss of life.
And French President Jacques Chirac and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder have pledged their support for the people of New Orleans.
Pope Benedict XVI is praying for victims of the tragic hurricane as European charities raise thousands of pounds in aid.
Put your money where your mouth is!
Didn't he just say it was Bush's fault because he caused global warming.
I missed that one. Creeps the both of them.
I do believe the Brits are one our staunchest allies. They've suffered their own version of 9/11.
I'm not pleased with the froggies, but I think they're coming around.
No, that was Germanys Environmental Minister, Jürgen Trittin.
I haven't heard anything from Chirac or Schroeder.
I thought that she was shocked that we have animals down there who would steal during a catastrophe and the S.O.B.'s had a smile on their face while stealing.
Underneath that Royal Exterior...you just know she's a looter in any situation that "demands" it.
Doesn't matter if Jacque said it (wouldn't be unexpected). RFK Jr *did* say it so the talking point is out there.
Bump for the Queen!
Hear, hear :)
Tell Chirac the French can have New Orleans back. Come and get it.
Want some Euros huh? Want Germany to write us a big fat check? Or perhaps the French Navy off the Gulf Coast flying rescue missions? Maybe Schroeder, Chirac and Kofi Anan touring the disaster area?
