The Federal Government is offering help to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, including medical supplies.
Deputy Prime Minister Anne McLellan says Canadian health authorities have offered to send emergency medical supplies from the country's emergency stockpile.
The Foreign Affairs Department is warning Canadians to avoid travel to the storm-ravaged regions.
There are no reports of any Canadian deaths along the Gulf Coast.

They, along with the Krauts, Surrender-Monkeys, and the rest of the EU-Weenies can start pulling their weight in Iraq and leave us free to take care of our own.

No thanks. We've got it covered ourselves. We just shut off all foreign aid to do it, so no problem.

I should note my comments above are intended for governments. People who wish to help, should by all means do so.

Yes, my comments are also directed to the government and other assorted Canadian liberals, not Canadian Conservatives.

I think it's time to put away our pride (remember the Russians and the sub situation) and take whatever help is available. There is a huge task ahead and it will take so many resources to get things back anywhere near normal. I would welcome the assistance from whoever wants to give it. This was a catastrophe like we've never seen and there is no shame is accepting help, IMHO.

"Why turn down their help?"
Because it gives us the opportunity to whine about how no country ever helps us when we are in trouble.
To: F14 Pilot
I, for one, am grateful for the offer. Thank you, but I think we should be able to handle things.

You might want some of Canada's fuel. We are making a killing off of the fuel market you know.

Excellent point. We help out disaster victims overseas all the time. Also, maybe some of the aid workers will have anti-American predispositions which will be changed by meeting real Americans.

No thanks. They can keep their help. Otherwise we will be listening to their smug proclamations of how they sent a box of Band-Aides for ever after.

I agree. I really believe Americans are the most generous, compassionate people in the world. And having those from other countries meet "real Americans" would probably give them a new perspective on the U.S.. And we could use the help.

Ya know, I wish one day the US would take these countries up on their offers. Of course, that'd be the last time they offer, but it'd still be funny to see their faces.

I'm kidding of course, our people are going to need a lot of help.
