Great survival skills. Unfortunately, too many of our younger folks are ignorant of these methods. They don't get any practical knowledge in public skools--just how to put condoms on bananas!

Hey! You wouldn't believe what I can do with a condom! Those things are great for waterproofing medicine bottles, bandaids, you can tape them over wound dressings to keep them dry . . .
Anyway, my folks had a lot of common sense as well as actual training. My brother and I are both in the Military, too so the learning never stops.

if this doesn't motivate folks to make some basic prep., i don't know what will.

at the very least everyone should have a "boogie bag" in the trunk of their car.
for basics you just need jugs of water, a box of non-perishables( that don't need cookin or fancy prep.) and a walmart bag with some clothes and an old pair of shoes. even this barest of essentials can keep you alive, and it costs less than 20.00 bucks and takes just a few square feet of your trunk.

families should have a boogie bag prepared and in the garage. put spare clothes, footwear, hygiene and Toilet paper. A big old duffel bag hanging in the garage will suffice. it might take all of a hour this saturday to have this stuff ready.....
