thank you again for your local updates.

On a good note - just received a FedEx package shipped yesterday from Jackson, Mississippi. Even the FedEx delivery guy was impressed to see the MS origin. Said he had heard FedEx moved all their trucks to safe locations prior to the storm.

For anybody who is interested, I just talked to onyx and she has just spoken with Toby (gulfcoast6) and his family is fine; their house is still standing, but not habitable; they evidently went to a cinderblock church to ride out the storm.

That is amazing. Wondering if the government would have been proactive if they could have enlisted the help of all of those trucks to move people out of harm's way.

FedEx has a lot of emergency equipment sitting at their Memphis hub to do pickups and deliveries with. Last I looked, they even had a tow plane and glider, used for deliveries when they couldn't get a truck in in time.
