Let's hope they're brutally honest hearings, too. There's massive corruption involved here, as well as unbelievable incompetence, and (in the case of the looters) a fair bit of a society reaping what it has sown.
Sadly, I don't think our political leaders are capable of the sort of serious and concentrated thought that will allow them to learn the proper lessons from this.

From what I heard, they could only pump a certain height (e.g. 70 inches) so once the lake filled up 5 feet above normal they were useless whether running or not.
