Thousands dead? No way, unconfirmed rumors. Well.....The NO Mayor (who I was first defending) I now consider a unprepared guy who hasnt slept much so I think that the word "thousands" is being thrown around too losely and if he had the chance to say it again he would word it differently. Lots of people have died but thousands is a bit much.

I was saying the "thousands dead" in general as has been bantered about in the media and FR and elsewhere.

You have no idea whether it is an accurate number or not. Personally if the mayor is saying thousands, and hearing that Mississippi is nearing 200+ without some of the flooding we see in New Orleans, it may pan out to be a good estimate. With all the bodies they are seeing,(and no these are not from graveyards) combined with those who reached their attics with no way to break free, as well as those unable to go higher in their homes...yes it could be thousands.
