Picking up people at local elementary schools with school buses is a great idea--everyone knows where they are. Has anyone noticed that most of those left behind seem to be poor and probably don't own cars?

One man said he was caring for his elderly mother and how could they get out? He couldn't leave her.I'm sure he wasn't an exception. Also I heard that the buses had been taken out of service, but I don't know if that is true or not.

I think that is true for the regular buses, which was just plain stupid. However, take a look around this thread. There's a picture of school buses underwater that's been posted several times. Makes you sick to look at it when you think how they could have been used.
