World reacts to the damage wrought by Katrina (jihadists rejoice US civilian deaths)

VIENNA, Austria - From papal prayers to telegrams from China, the world reacted with an outpouring of compassion Wednesday for the victims of Hurricane Katrina in messages tinged by shock that a disaster of this scale could occur in the United States.

Islamic extremists rejoiced in America's misfortune, giving the storm a military rank and declaring in Internet chatter that "Private" Katrina had joined the global jihad, or holy war. With "God's help," they declared, oil prices would hit $100 a barrel this year.

French President Jacques Chirac and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder sent messages of sympathy to President Bush. Chirac, who has famously quarreled with Bush over the Iraq war, addressed this letter, "Dear George."

Pope Benedict XVI said he was praying for victims of the "tragic" hurricane while China's President Hu Jintao expressed his "belief that that the American people will definitely overcome the natural disaster and rebuild their beautiful homeland."

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II also sent a message to Bush saying she was "deeply shocked and saddened" at the devastation caused by the hurricane and expressing her condolences, "especially to the families of those who have lost their lives, to the injured and to all who have been affected by this terrible disaster."

They think Allah is on their side and did this. They are going to be indulged by the Holy One of Israel again. I bet a monster earthquake will strike hard in that region and will flatten some city or cities. Maybe one of their holy sites will be destroyed. It will make Katrina look like a simple thunderstorm. That warning from Proverbs is chilling and it is also true. Everytime I have seen these jihadi's celebrate some catastrophe hits them hard. They've suffered 300,000 in natural disaster and far more than that in combat in Iraq.

Several countries are waiting for instructions. They have all rightly said that we have such efficient relief capabilities that they would only get in the way, but they are ready to help should we need them.

Just reaction from when us Christians were rejoicing the 50,000 dead Muslims in Bam Iran. Or the 200,000 dead Muslims in the Tsunami.. Oh wait...I don't remember any rejoicing.

-----------------------------------------------

Kidding, right? There were numerous posts here that either saw the tsunami as God's vengeance on the muslim world or as a simple act of nature that had a silver lining, it killed thousands of potential terrorists (iow - these kids won't live long enough to join jihad).

...just heard the global warmist are saying the US brought on the hurricane on ourselves so we should "take care of ourselves"...
Our decision to pull out of the Kyoto pickpocket showed that we don't care about global warming.

..I'll start by responding that so many global warmist can't explain why some glaciers are melting some are not...
..or why they don't use figures from the 1950's...

I WILL also remember their knucklehead reasoning the next time there's a tsunami or earthquake that they wish to blame on America. I will remember their cheesy excuses, their utmost disregard for the US......
THEY ARE RIGHT in the sense that we will take care of our own, we will continue the fight terrorism, we will spread democracy and freedom, and I swear this vet, this retired American worker, this pensioned limited American WILL NOT FORGET!!

Oh wait...I don't remember any rejoicing.

Probably because our predominate religion advocates compassion and charity.

Islamic extremists rejoiced in America's misfortune,

Can we just carpet bomb the next dozen demonstrations and return the sentiment ?
