Number of hurricanes by Saffir-Simpson category to strike mainland U.S. each decade

TOPICS: News/Current Events; US: Louisiana; US: Mississippi
KEYWORDS: globalwarming; hurricanes; katrina; weather
Here are the facts to expose the liberal lies about the alleged global warming and hurricanes. Their hysteria is a pack of lies, but then when were facts and logic ever important or even relevant to liberals.

Be careful about using statistics like this. The current period is not as much time as the others.

Well there were two this year, bringing this half-decade to 5 so far, so if no more majors hit this year, we're on pace for 10 this decade; that would match the highest decade, 1940-1950, but not exceed it.

It's a point, to be sure. But, look at the decades 1891-1900 and 1941-1950. Even assuming the current rate for the remainder of this decade, i.e., doubling the 2001-2004 figures, the sum falls short of many of the other decades.

I wouldn't wager much on that. Natural disasters are just that, and wholly unpredictable.
