What is worse is that NO ONE from another country has offered so much as a kick in the ass to help our victims. NOT ONE! What a load of crap! There is all sorts of aid, equipment, building teams, cash etc. being organized from every single provence in Canada. In fact, I was listening to a Canadian talk show yesterday: "They are our brothers and sisters, human being just like us, and need our help. In times like these we set aside politics and do what needs to be done as we have always done, and they have always done when we were in need". Is what the host ended the show with. An American hating lefty phoned in, and said that aid should be attached to political grievences. NOT ONE person who called into the show agreed, in fact it turned into a lefty bashing show, and how moraly bankrupt the left is. So, before you make rediculous statements, check to see if facts back it up.

The Astrodome has power, air conditioning, running water, toilets, and probably even some reasonable food preparation facilities. And it doesn't have a 5-foot-deep moat around it, so people can actually get in and out.
My advice to the folks living around the Astrodome in Houston: Buy guns. The crime rate is about to go way up.

Makes me wonder - How are they planning on getting all of this stolen loot out? There is a 2 day evacuation order which means they will probabaly report to the Superdome and hop on a bus or duece and a half and take the only road out of town. I don't think the National Gaurd loading those trucks are going to allow people to bring on microwaves, DVD players, and HD TV's.

OK, OK...nobody is condoning looting the big ticket items. We all know it is a small minority doing this and to withhold help because of that is mean and unjustified.

I have seen very little television coverage but what I did see showed only black looters - mainly young black male looters, although some were female. Do you think camera crews are being selective?

But alot of people don't have that family network of support. The average, working pay check to pay check family will be the ones hurt the most and helped the least...IMO. Massive, feel good relief efforts will help those left behind (think looters). Its the middle class who will suffer, long term. I just can't lose the thoughts of families, stuck in motels along interstates, with a couple of day worth of clothes and cash AND NOTHING to go back to...and no money coming in.
There has to be relief operations aimed at those who evacuated set in place. Obviously, the rescue of those in harms way is paramount, but there are others displaced who can't be forgotten.

they will claim they had a 20,000 sf home..and 10 million in cash....they will lie to get as much as they can...What is even more distressing is that most of these people will be relocated to a city near you.

How can you expect Blacks to act any different than their chosen leaders.
There are some serious moral gaps between King and the likes of charlatans named Sharpton, Jackson, Conyers, Jackson Lee and others.

But alot of people don't have that family network of support. I would be shocked if almost everyone didn't have family that would help them in a time of need.

How many white people have you seen in ANY of the pictures of NO? The only ones I have seen are rescue, fire or police.

I always love the elitist Libs who crow about the nobility of the common man. ("Why, the downtrodden would NEVER misuse Welfare!") When it comes to human nature, I believe neither the worst or the best...I follow what Reganis Maximus said: "trust, but verify."

I don't know about you, but I think of Huey Long and the minor bosses, bleeding the system, rather than actually doing what they claimed to do.

People who left the city generally have insurance and historically don't line up for hand outs.Homeowners insurance does not cover flood damage.
Most people do NOT have separate flood insurance.
My daughters are beginning a project to collect cash from our church and schools. The plan is to try to get local companies match the funds raised dollar for dollar.
We'll be picking a church in the LA area and sending the funds directly to the pastor to distribute to his parishoners in need. This way, we'll know that every single dollar will go to those in need and not to administrative costs.

Proof that New Orleans has been destroyed. Only the human refuse would live there now.....when the water is drained....IF it is drained....what's left will probably be a ghost town, or else inhabited only by the stupid or the criminal.

Blacks are the majority race in NO. If it was Cookamunga, Calif. you would see the majority of whatever race doing the same thing.
