I truly doubt that they will release the true death count. They'll do what they did down in Florida after Hurricane Charley hit. Initially, you heard eyewitnesses describe hundreds, even thousands of dead, and then the official count went down to 13 ending up around 25 people. I'm betting that the death count will be revised to a couple of hundred.

Who has the power to tell the government to lie about death figures? This is pure crap. They release the names of the dead. If my Aunt Sally is not on the list, don't you think I might notice. And what in the world would be the purpose? Where is the upside for the "government" officials who perpetrate the lie?

Another possibility is that this paramedic, assuming he exists, is just a fool with no sense of judgement. How should I know? But anyone who suggests the government covers up hurricane deaths because they were illegals and this would somehow drive the residents of Miami insane -- what does this say about the person's judgement? It makes no sense.

True ... anything can be posted on the Internet ... so I'm somewhat skeptical about the sourcing for this story. If the underlying facts of the story are true ... paramedic on scene estimates thousands died ... might be based on his experience in one small area and he multiplied the number, assuming other areas were equally effected.
