They said gulfport and biloxi were not at all expect something of this magnitude and the sudden turn just before landfall caught many off guard please dont propagate this myth.....gulfport and biloxi were forecast to get full ne eyewall surge at least 24 hours in advance of landfall.....the "wobble" was a few miles and landfall occured exactly where predicted.

You are right. I live 2 miles from the beach and hauled ass when they started talking cat 5. My dad forced me to go also, being the former safety officer at Keesler he knew what could happen. I escaped quick on the back roads, for some reason nobody takes the back roads when evacuating. I am sure I will have friends that are no more.
