please dont propagate this myth.....gulfport and biloxi were forecast to get full ne eyewall surge at least 24 hours in advance of landfall.....the "wobble" was a few miles and landfall occured exactly where predicted.

The focus of the threat was on New Orleans, not MS.

I can well imagine that the main stream media focused on New Orleans - it is the well known city, not Biloxi or other coastal towns of Mississippi.

But the locals along the coast should damn well have known there was a threat. They got hit with one of the worst hurricanes to hit mainland U.S. in the last century: Hurricane Camille - August 1969. When I was in the area a couple years later, they were still doing serious rebuilding.
