I've had the police try to keep me quiet when kids screwing around shot my car. Seems they didn't like their phones ringing off the hook with reporters wanting to know about the "sniper" incident. You should have seen their faces when I informed them my wife was a J-school student, and who do they think told the reporters in the first place.

Yeah, but did you have thousands of dead bodies out in plain sight with hundreds of rescue workers around and the vulturous ratings-hungry media ready to broadcast it all?

I think the two situations aren't exactly comparable.

listening to Glenn Beck...father has called in who has a dtr in lock up in jefferson parish (?)...she is afraid they might not make it out alive....looters have sniper weaponry and are fighting off any help arriving...protecting their jewelry store turf....glenn has him on hold now...I am so sad that our society is like this...there IS no excuse...none...If thugs keep help out...then perhaps..these thugs need to be eliminated. I cannot believe I am saying this..I know they are desparate people too...but to KILL others in a situtation like this...to do this...takes a total lack of conscience. Total.
