Astonishing Exclusive From Mississippi [hundreds if not thousands dead]
Paramedic Rescue Operation | 8-31-05 | My Favorite Headache

Posted on 08/30/2005 10:10:45 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

It is with heavy heart I write this...

I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.

He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.

Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.

They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.

The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.

The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.

More to follow....

Martial law was not declared until after the storm went thru. That prevents "A complete mandatory evacuation".

Information released last evening confirmed that martial law has not been declared - civil authorites are still in control of the relief efforts.

some of that money was shorted to fund the war in Iraq.

Do you have a link for that?

Clever account name for a paleo-troll. The person behind it, too clever by half and double that an @$$hole.

When facts and reason fail, call 'em names.

Calling someone an ass. No point to that. That's just wrong regardless how you feel.

Here is the lead to a story from the MS Clarion Ledger this morning:

Gov. Haley Barbour predicted the death toll from Katrina will surpass the record by which all hurricanes are measured — Camille, which killed 143 people in 1969.

Barbour toured the devastated area Tuesday and described how a half mile between the Gulf Coast and the railroad had been swept clean of casinos, restaurants, houses and other structures.

Nothing in there impugned the OP.

You need to go google the definition of the word.

one should also remember, after the tsunami, there were a lot of bodies in the trees. anyone recall most of them were women because their hair was tangled in the trees?

Consider the storm surge was estimated to be 26' people would have to run up three flights of stairs to get away, fighting a current. Anyone remember the videos of those folks running up the stairs in that hotel and the camera shot of people on the ground being washed away? Even a healthy 200lb man whoops, 200 lb man, didn't want to anybody to read it as 2001 b man, is no match for that tidal force.

"I am afraid that one is going to hit GW in the butt. The Army Corp of Engineers is responsible for the levees and spillways and some of that money was shorted to fund the war in Iraq. It seems that the very levee that was first breeched, the 17th street levee, was top priority at the time. You know the left will be all over that."

Yes it would appear you and others are already trying to blame W for this.

Your screen name is spot on if you believe this garbage.

The ones that are not in caskets. Seen that happen and that is what comes up, you don't see the old bodies.

fair enough...it's just frustrating that someone would quibble with people who have real information at a time like this...

I really get angry when I see disasters like this and people disappear like trash.
Absolutely, one of the "essential" supplies, for spiritual repair, as well as physical well being are digital cameras and memory cards.

People should never cease to exist unknown, unmourned and anonymous. Families and friends have a basic human need to know that their loved ones really died, were identified to the extent possible (photo) and buried.

Next to saving the living, this should be job one.

But then, the "government" in that area seems to be known primarily for its absolute and classic corruption and incompetence.

YOu better watch your own backside for that electrical bolt before you go threatening it to other people.

Especially if they might have beenhere longer than you.

Caskets are sealed so the bodies wouldn't come out

I respectfully beg to differ. Once they surface, they start bumping into things, etc., and they do frequently come open.

I'll back you up on the Albany flood.

Good friend of mine is from there, her family is in law enforcement. They did retrieve hundreds of bodies . . . but almost all of them were not recently deceased.

The Public Works people wound up having to handle it. There was one poor fellow who was so grossed out by it all that he applied for disability . . .

We can hope that a lot of the bodies they're finding down there are floating out of the graveyards.
