Astonishing Exclusive From Mississippi [hundreds if not thousands dead]
Paramedic Rescue Operation | 8-31-05 | My Favorite Headache

Posted on 08/30/2005 10:10:45 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

It is with heavy heart I write this...

I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.

He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.

Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.

They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.

The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.

The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.

More to follow....

If he didn't do a drive by posting...where is he with the updates...where is he with links to back up what he said?

Did you even look at the link I provided? He posted for two hours after the initial post. Then he probably went to bed.

So are you saying that his story is complete crap because it's not validated by the MSM? Do you remember the initial MSM reports about the tsunami last December? They horribly underestimated the amount of damage and fatalities. How about Shep Smith saying that NO dodged a bullet? He broadcast that based on the observations of a little slice of the French Quarter that he was in. How's that for MSM accuracy? I'm not saying I'm convinced, but I think it's not an unreasonable story.

I'm saying that he doesn't have any credible links...a supposed hearsay conversation with an alleged friend.

You're telling me that if there was that kind of catastrophic death SOMEONE wouldn't find a way to get a picture or a video clip...even a civilian with a handy cam...broadcast somewhere?

Just as the truth of the number of casualties, the reason and circumstances behind the origins of this thread will be revealed. To insinuate the thread is a prank is a pretty serious charge, however.

Thewre was no looting in Galveston for two reasons..there was nothign left to lot, and no one alive to do the looting...it was a small, contained community, as opposed to the hundreds of miles hit today..

I get uncanny premonitions that are accurate. Last night I dreamt of Katrina and I saw for miles and miles, water, water everywhere. Houses submerged as far as I could see in every direction. Deaths, deaths, deaths.

I then wake up and read this...

Had this hit directly on New Orleans...thinsg would be much worse than what we see now.

Exactly how could it have been worse ? People are beginning to refer to New Orleans in the past tense. Even the government reps in charge have stated that New Orleans will never be the same. 80 % under water and rising. Thousands threatened by rising flood waters. Granted they could have received more wind damage. What New Orleans dodged was about 20-30 mph in peak wind speed. Not much considering this was a strong cat 4 or cat 5.

It's not a challenge I make lightly either.

The theoretical high death tolls have occurred in areas that no one is being allowed into right now. If you try to go take pictures, you will be arrested. Only rescue workers and essential personnel.

I remember it took a number of days to get those videos of the tsunami out to the world (remember that vacationing couple's eerie home video?), I'm guessing something like that might emerge here. Then, this being the 21st century, someone who had good storm surge video would probably still be in discussion with media outlets to get the best price for it. In any case, so much has occurred we tend to forget this story is only about 48 hours old. That's what amazes me about some on this thread adamantly insisting the death toll just can't be in the thousands. There's an estimate of hundreds in one Mississippi alone, and they have barely started looking for the dead in most areas, preferring to concentrate efforts on rescuing the living.

The hurricane directly hit the city. The eye did not.

The city is pretty much a complete loss.

The Hurricane is the direct cause.

They didn't "dodge a bullet".

Simply a short sighted conclusion both then and now.

The 1906 hurricane that washed over Galveston killed 6000+, the exact number undetermined because so many washed out to sea. Let us pray there is nothing close to that number.

People have a choice to live on the Gulf Coast or not. Perhaps, they should not be allowed the choice if they cannot act responsibly when faced with a threat of death from a hurricane.

Where should we force them to live then? In California with their earthquakes? In Kansas with their tornadoes? Up north with their blizzards? Geesh.

People stay behind because it is their home. They stay because they know criminals will stay and loot their homes, because Grandpa refuses to leave so they stay with him, because they can't take their pets, because they don't get paid until Friday and they only have $65 left, because they've left dozens of times before and nothing happened. Because, because, because....

I piece this together with what I saw on the TV with the aerial shots. All those destroyed homes in Gulfport, it looked like Hiroshima. You know damned well all those people did not evacuate. It really makes sense. The numbers like "scores" dead do not mesh with what video has been shown.

That would be my fear. If I recall correctly, the National Hurricane Center's dire pre-storm announcement also mentioned potential casualties in the tens of thousands.

Visibility is probably a few feet during that point of the storm and it was dark. Very hard to light what your trying to take a picture of.

The MSM didn't inform us that people were jumping out of the twin towers either...

One of the unique things about FR is that we 'often' get first hand accounts of news in the making...Before it get to the MSM...

Almost all of the footage shown on tv right now is from cameras in helicoptors...I doubt the MSM wants to show the public pictures of thousands of dead Americans...In fact, they haven't shown even one dead body floating in the water...

The MSM warned the people of New Orleans...I didn't hear much warning for Mississippi...

Scare 'em up a little, eh? Do you also predict plunging stocks, runs on banks and brokers jumping out windows to commit suicide?
