Thanks for posting this article. I wondered how the family was doing.
[BTW, any more news on T.O. and Clarett? I guess we need overload info on losers, too. </sarc>]

Who hasn't had death and turmoil in life. I don't care if he is down to earth or not. He is no more important than anyone else and neither is his family. In fact, Favre agrees with you ...
"I've found myself over the last 24 hours a couple times saying, 'Why me?' Or, 'Why of all places ...' " Favre said. "As quickly as that thought pops in my head - and it probably pops in my head more than I'd like it to - I try to remind myself of the things to be thankful for, which there are a lot.
"As I've said before, to have tragedies in my life, it's no different than anyone else. It's just that mine are on TV and in the papers. At times it's a bit embarrassing and it's a little bit unfair to the other people who suffer those hardships. ... So I try to remind myself of those people, and I know there's people down there right now who don't have the means that me and my family have and don't have the money (to) rebuild.

First of all anyone who knows the Favre Family which obviously you do not, knows that they are some of the sweetest, nicest people any one could ever meet. I have had the great fortune of meeting many of them and have even spent time at the home that was lost. Just because Bret is a football star does not make him any less human and if you have read any of the recent articles you would know that he has already sent supply's by way of air and truck to help out his very damaged community not just his family. He not only gives his all on the football field but also gives all of his heart to his home town and surrounding areas. If you ever get the chance to visit Kiln, I am sure that you won't find one person who would say that he is not a kind and generous person celebrity or not. Further more any one who has ever done their homework on Bret Favre knows that he does not like always being in the lime light unfortunately it just comes with the territory of being great at what you do.

Thank you for signing on just so you could rip me a new one. I'm honored.
If you can take a breath, calm down, and read what I actually wrote, you might see that it is not a commentary on Favre or his family.
I'm glad he's so generous, but my comment had to do with the media, not him.
Please don't put words into my mouth. It's not very polite.

I do apologize if I mis-understood your comment and if it was only regarding the media then let us all remember that not all celebrities ask for media attention it comes with the fame.

They have lived there all of their lives and they have the money to fly out if they wanted to. I think that no-one expected Katrina to be so bad and they had survived others. I have Met Ms. Bonita (Bret's Mom) and if she did not want to leave her home no one not even Bret could have made her go.
