This is starting to really impact me....the devastation is horrific. I can not stand that this is a reality for so many, it is almost impossible to grasp it.

I try to picture being in the superdome right now, and cannot.

But I do know and believe that the American people are the most incredible, wonderful, giving people on earth and that everyone who lost everything in NO will be helped, cared for and will rebuild.

That is how we do it in America.

And we always will.

Bump to that. And a word about all the sniping and griping and flaming on the thread. Jim Rob warns on the home page of the addictive potential of this place. And it is. Know why? Because we who are attracted to it are alike in so many ways. To a greater or lesser extent: Smart, informed, independent thinkers, well versed in a position or trade.

All of us love our country.

All of us want to use this forum to save the Republic.

Get this much ability and passion combined, well you are going to reach critical mass occasionally.

Couple of things: When anger is aroused, preview twice, count to ten each time, and ask yourself, "Would I want my Mama to see what I just wrote?"

Sermon concluded. Carry on.

Hello,

I am at this point in shock. NO is (was?) our 2nd home town. I tried today to total the number of times we have visited there, over the last 12 years, I came up with at least 15. I am sick to my stomach, horrified at what those poor Americans are having to deal with. I am still praying, and hope that that helps.

Also, in the AM, I will find a charity that will be helping, and offer my time, work and money to help.

Glad to be here, with all of you, MOgirl
