Remember Titanic, when reality set in to the captain and he became practically useless to the crew? That's what the mayor reminds me of right now.
Both the governor and the mayor will be found sorely wanting...La would have been in good hands had they elected Bobby Jndal governor..
I would agree with that -- useless is definitely a word for this Mayor.
Suggest you read the Congressional report on the Titanic and the official interviews. Based on the circumstances, the entire crew behaved well right up to the very end. They did a tremendous job saving as many people as they did. Even if they had had enough life boats they would have not had enough time to fill them and launch them. Crew members were giving away their life jackets and warm coats to the passengers. The captain was under total control of the ship even up to the time it actually sunk.
