The water in NO will rise to the level of Lake Ponchartrain, which is about 3 feet above sea level right now. Lake Ponchartrain is 3ft above sea level, NO is about 6ft below, so waters should rise to 9ft in most places then? Am I reading this right? How high are the waters at the moment.
So many figures going around right now.

Simply take any point in the NO 'bowl' in terms of 'below sea level', add 3 feet to sea level and that is where the water will be in 12 to 15 hours.

That's what it is. The places by the French Quarter will have very little. Parts of St. Charles, where it's 9 feet below sea level, will be 12 ft. below.
New Orleans is an uneven bowl...higher spots and low places.
