If they've turned from looters into bands of killing marauders...there's a huge difference. If they start going into areas where there are people & taking possessions, raping & kidnapped, the looters should, indeed, be SHOT DEAD. Same goes for prisoners trying to escape. New Orleans is now a war-zone, not even as safe as Baghdad.
That, unfortunately, is the only good thing about this disaster. It got her ugly face out of the media.
Sad...
"they don't have enough sand".
< Why these women are even appearing on Larry King shows at this time is unimaginable. >
Lookin' for an easy interview?
Can you believe this woman? She's a model for how to heighten anxiety. I heard her say "We're trying to figure out what to do" in regards to how to get people out of the Superdome.
It's time to get somebody in there who knows something about logistics and get this hand-wringer off the air.
These two women are useless.
Bring us a man to run the show, a general or Rudi. I swear, I like it better when men are in charge but Maggie Thatcher would have been good.
The same governor who's own solution was to pray that the winds die down?
The same governor who said "We can make this a good experience?"
Makes sense; she blamed the airlines and FEMA earlier for closing the airport down too early. And what is she doing sitting on LKL for an full hour? Blame everyone except herself. She really is in a tough situation, but sitting on TV for an hour isn't showing much leadership.
Now they have to spin it. This is terrible.
Hello - the freeways are UNDER WATER, how do you think they are going to land a plane? Not to mention wires, bridges, abandoned cars, etc. What sci-fi movie have you seen lately?
I still think it's appropriate for him to say a few words in a special address. Don't think that's too difficult.
No reason to argue over it though. Matter of opinion.
If we could only drop Micheal Moore and Ted Kennedy in the levee breech we could save the city. Maybe those two could finally be of some use.
Bring us a man to run the show - WTF? The problem isn't that they are women, it is that they are lefty liberal losers who didn't do enough to evacuate the city.
Unfortuntely I am afraid you are right...
The female reporter on CNN (the one that's been so good, think her name is Jeanne) made a point today.
She had waded over to the Super Dome from her hotel in knee deep, then thigh deep water.
She commented that as reporters they were used to visiting Third World countries and were fully vaccinated for diseases such as Typhoid, but the regular NO folks that were wandering around weren't and it was just a matter of time before disease struck.
You know, I could swear I heard that only 3,000 people were in the Dome that first night and that there are 10,000 now.
Could I possibly be wrong.
But you're right, the numbers do not jive.
are there ANY roads passable into new orleans now?
Don't be so sensitive. I don't want him anywhere near the place. What he's doing now, providing behind-the-scenes leadership, is the right thing to do. Watching him on TV isn't going to make me feel any better, and it for sure isn't boing to make the refugees of New Orleans, or Biloxi, or Gulfport feel any better either.
Like him or not, President Bush is the man when the chips are down.
