May I remind everyone that Floridians are STILL without homes from last year's hurricanes.
If EVER there was a time for President Bush to announce a TOTAL suspension of money to the UN, IMF, World Bank and zillions of other treasury giveaways, it is NOW!
America needs to help Americans. This is a major catastrophe. We need to seriously call into question why we are spending billions overseas and trying to "end poverty all over the world" when there is a mega-billion dollar need right now in New Orleans.
Floridians will be paying SBA loans for the next 30 years after the four hurricanes last year. New Orleans resident will be doing the same. The money being sent to Africa and all over the world is freebie cash grants with no strings attached. Why should Americans have to pay 30 year SBA loans after a national disaster but foreigners get OUR tax dollars with no strings attached?
This is a national disgrace.
We need to stop all this US Treasury giveaway (throwaway) and start taking care of American citizens.
I am begging Congress and President Bush to start taking of Americans!
Not to start anything. But the reason homes arent built yet in Florida is because there simply isnt enough people to build them, there is plenty of money for it. Same thing will apply for MS,LA and AL.
Plus a revocation of all earmarks in the Highway Bill.
A pork hunt to eliminate junk spending.
And a review of Homeland Security spending to remove pork and put it into a relief fund.
Folks, this will be at least a $250 billion storm. Add up all the ripple effects and it will probably be a trillion dollar storm. Politicians need to realize it's time to stop playing with our tax dollars and act like adults.
Or re-establish and build poor houses for those who cannot or will nor for whatever reason house themselves.
