"I didn't see that, but I can't help wondering how a certain family of three are. I was watching Fox and CNN all day Sunday after the evacuation orders were given. They briefly interviewed a woman in N.O. who was shown with her boyfriend and three year old daughter on their small houseboat. She said they were going to "stick it out" on the boat. I can't get that darling little girl out of my mind. I just can't believe they stayed."

I believe I saw a follow-up report yesterday on them and they were fine.

Watching ABC local...Said an elderly woman called and said her neighbor's 3-story house fell on her 2-story house and she's wondering how to get to the roof to signal officials for rescue. Lots of people trapped in attics. Snakes in water. Toxic water.

Also, water in uptown rising 2 feet per hour. Yikes!

"The pictures that I have seen of the Biloxi-Gulfport Casino strand show very vast devestation. Beau Rivage Hotel on its twenty to twenty-five foot mound still stands but I understand that they took water to
the second floor. The McDonalds down the highway is slab, columns and mansard roof with no walls or contents remaining. But some people only a few block inland are in better shape. Downtown Gulfport
was flooded but the structures are standing."

I suspect we'll eventually see official confirmation of a surge, or surge plus waves, in excess of 40 feet in the area of the Beau Rivage Casino.

Last I heard, both Louis Armstrong International (KMSY) and Lakefront (KNEW) were closed to all traffic, flooded and unusable. Not sure if that's still true.

Everything east of the 9th ward is under 10' of water.

Not too much water damage on west bank.

Police concerned that they will soon run out of supplies....food, water....gas....

I saw him. That poor man was just at a loss. He even said so, that he was lost. I don't think he really meant location. I can't imagine living through that kind of horror to be faced with losing my wife on top of it.

I'm speechless. That is an amazing report. It does sound just like Survivor.

WDSU just reported that looting is out of control. People are swimming into stores and swimming out with bags full of loot.

Can someone post a location for the bridge colloquially known as the "Twin Spans bridge"?

I was googling and ran across this link. I wonder if these AquaDam thingies might work for patching the levee breaks?

WDSU - looting is out of control. People are swimming in neck deep water with bags of stolen goods.

Dysfunctional as in "they're not working". The "new" higher capacity pumps that would work underwater were never installed due to NOLA corruption and are now underwater in a warehouse.

WDSU is confirming that martial law has been declared for the entire city.

People are looting groceries and other stores and then swimming back to where they came from. Freaking unbelieveable.

These levees are being breeched -- water is continuing to rise in New Orleans according to the Governor. Tells me that levees are in a precarious stage right now with breeches already happening.

The plan was to get everyone out by telling them to evacuate. But people don't often respond, either because they have no vehicle, no money, etc. Tragic beyond belief.

What? The mayor and govenor and radio and tv stations all said GET OUT! What did you want?

There were 100,000 people without cars in the city. Planners knew this. There needed to be a plan in place to get school buses into the city and get those people out.

Now they'll have to be taken out by boat.

Meanwhile, WDSU just reported that "looting is out of control" and people were observed swimming in neck-high water with bags of looted stuff. *sigh*
