"I would love to see this pinned squarely on Clinton and Berger, but I feel like it is best to wait and see where the facts fall first."

Sure, we need the facts and ALL THE FACTS. Especially all the documents, if any escaped the shredder. A lot of us are hoping that there are recoverable computer files somewhere -- unless hard drives were destroyed, or erased in a most thorough manner (not enough just to delete files), there may be DOD workstations that still have all kinds of AD documents, in only they can be located.... and there may be tape backups of major systems, etc. unless someone has destroyed those, too.

MY SPECULATION: fwiw, I'm not one who thinks this particular scandal will go directly to the Clinton White House, in the sense that Berger or Clinton was likely ever briefed on or gave orders regarding ABLE DANGER. I think AD will turn out to be about the Reno/Gorelick type of lawyers operating throughout Justice, DOD, etc. who walled off and blockaded just about any intel work that could possibly be the least bit controversial, or anything dangerous to Clinton's CHINAGATE scandals (that is where I think the links lie, but I doubt that Bill or Hillary had to do more than the original PDD in 1995 that set Gorelick to work on creating walls).

I suspect what Sandy Burglar was destroying had to do with handwritten comments on the various copies of the "After-Action Report" on the Millenium bombing plots; though Burglar may have had other targets, too, I doubt that ABLE DANGER documents ever got to the White House at that time....

NEVER FORGET that two of the 'Toon's first acts in '93 were:

1. Changing the LONGSTANDING PRACTICE of having DOD and State Departments approve sales to foreign powers (like missile technology, machine tools, etc) like China, assigning that approval to the Commerce (!?) Department instead.

2. Disbanding the mechanism whereby the Democratic Party checked whether contributions came from foreign source.

All of the 'Toons' actions are woven into the same garment.

Yes, I think your analysis is closer to the truth than my hopes. It does bother me that the Clintons and their lawyer-like disregard for anything moral have taught the art of shredding to politicians; that and the phrase "I don't remember" or "I don't recall". They have raised covering your tracks to an art form, although with the fawning media it is hardly necessary.

When the press helped Clinton spread the message that having sex with a barely adult intern in the Oval Office was a personal matter, I almost had a coronary. Give me "Give 'em hell Harry" any day. [If you must have a Dem, that is. 8) ]

Anybody who remembers what the Democrats defended under Clinton are rolling on the floor laughing at what they complain about under Bush. The call an honorable man like Pres. Bush a liar, when their idol lost his legal license for lying to the judge.

"Bill Clinton Lied, and America Cried."
