Has anyone heard anything about the condition of St. Tammany Parish? Specifically interested in the lakefront area of Mandeville.
In a Tri-Cities hotel lobby, Moynihan and her family were watching a network TV reporter broadcast right down the street from their Mandeville, LA, home. Hurricane Katrina had hit Louisiana.
"There is severe and widespread flooding, according to authorities," the reporter said as the family waited with cell phones in hand.
"They can't get the rescue people out there," Bill Moynihan, Bonnies husband, said with a concerned look on his face.
Bill and Bonnie, along with their son Kyle, watched as live pictures of the store they shopped at back home showed how Hurricane Katrina was ripping through the area.
"I want to throw up, Bonnie said with a disgusted look on her face. It's just like someone punching you in the gut."
Have not. But there is another thread up about St Bernard's. mash here
Just saw an interview on one of the cable's with someone from St Tammany...lots of trees down..some roofs off..the reporter was talking with a resident who said he couldn't believe the damage...no word on injuries. People did seem to be up and around.
