Ya, I don't know anything. I'm sure the National Guard was flying you around by helicopter too. Were you aloud out during curfew? I was. I've also lived half my life in South FL.
As a side note: I was struck by lightning while sawing through a fallen tree with a chainsaw the night after the storm. I still have a scar on by right hand.
Andrew did a lot of damage, but there was no massive loss of life cover-up. I was there.
Thats' great to know. You must be really well informed.
I salvaged in the stench and rubble for 4+ months .. my place and a couple of friends. I had no electricity until I rented a room in a dry house 4 weeks after Andrew. Those in the deep South Dade country out west in the Redlands didn't have electricity for about 3 months. I was in mail lines, food lines, and phones lines for a couple of months, and came in contact with dozens of people from different neighborhoods .. on the ground.
Being in the military would automatically allow you to be out after the curfew .. for you were called in to help and restore order, for which we will be eternally grateful. But how would that standing mean that you were of a rank who would be entitled to know everything?
Two weeks' involvement does not and COULD NOT compute to your knownig the whole Andrew story.
