Either this is a hoax (did CNN call the hospital or did the woman call CNN?) or this is eerily reminiscient of the tsunami.

I saw the earthquake reported on the TV news, and thought it was really odd that nobody seemed to be too concerned. Figured it would be on every channel immediately. Hardly more than a mention. Then I found the FR thread, and the posters were understandably alarmed and wondering the same.

The mood was like it is here now... a sense that something REALLY BAD is happening but flipping channels one gets the impression that "there is nothing to see here just move along".

The damage from surge to the east of NO is very similar to that of the tsunami. In the city itself, it's a slower flood... but, will likely end up being just as catastrophic as the main event.
