To: Dog Gone
It's worse than we've been led to believe so far.

The biggest hurricanes are always like this. Within hours we have the kooks coming out and saying it was not a real storm. Silence is never a good thing, I would like to start hearing from some places in the next few hours.

This was and is a real storm. And it's a disaster for all those who were and are in its path.

Last night when I went to bed I expected the very worst. My eyes were tearing up.

A shift in intensity and track barely averted the worst case scenario, and I didn't see it until this morning. I would have slept better if I had stayed up another 90 minutes.

But it's plenty bad wherever she hit. I realize it's hard for news crews to get around to the affected spots right now, but this was and is a very bad storm.

I see that there are two more areas of interest between here and Africa. Hopefully they'll amount to nothing. We're going to need a rest.
