For someone who knows nothing of NOLA--what is the Twin Span? BTW--CNN lady reporter just said that around 300 people have been rescued by boats tonight--that's good news!
Apartment Buildings - many - on fire - per WDSU - North Arnold - huge fire...
LOL! One of those things wouldn't stay near me for 5 minutes!
I'd like an old man. Do you have an extra one I can have?
;-p
They let some of the smoke outside on the catwalks, so Brian Williams said.
Multiple structures . . . no fire-fighting pressure . . .
many? are these fires from gas leaks?
In "Meterie" (the huge fire) - someone can help me with the spelling?
I Would preffer to have you as my tag team parner.
Agreed. I'm envious. :)
No idea - what I posted is about all they said about the fires - other than wishing they had helicopters to drop water on them . . .
Who wrote that?
Permission to smack revel in the back of the head, sir/ma'am?
AP Radio News reported this afternoon that many refineries were reporting lighter than expected damage and that they expected to be back online "soon".
Yes... I heartedly agree... a fireboat is way better than a portable pump if the logistics can be worked out. But I would still submit that the scale of the mission is not something that will be done very quickly.
We're talking many billions of gallons of water... and I am confident that some uniquely creative solutions will be used that will amaze all of us. But it is a big job...
We surely hope they are; a few have, but not many. :-(
This is awful. Seem to be from the fire they showed a while back that involved only one home. There was nothing the firefighters could do. This is scary. One fire anywhere could burn down a whole section of town.
In all fairness, they only had so many of their crew out. They had to pick a spot and they can't go out much further than anyone else is allowed. They're trying.
"The twinspan is gone."
:-(
