Gator goes good with greens and cornbread. :-) glad you're safe.
And, IIRC, washes off their identification scent so any that survive will be attacked by their comrades.
Well, if that's your job, you just carry on. You can have the same "Snarky" title here on this thread like all the other ones!
They are looking for dry land and like things like door knobs.
"thanks I have people in both haven't heard from them since last night..."
They didn't evacuate?

French Quarter was high ground even before there were levees. That's why they put it there in the beginning. It can still flood, though. There are naturally occurring higher spots in the area, what they call "ridges" like Metairie Ridge.
Richer people live on higher ground, poorer people on lower ground, generally speaking.
MSM doesn't mention the snake & gator
dangers enough to residents. People
go back to their homes [in disarray]
and many get bitten by a snake hiding
under a sofa, in a cabinet, etc.
[MSM never mentions
this.]
"But it sure doesn't sound like a dodged bullet to me."
They all expected the whole city to be under thirty feet of water. So far only one area is under water so it's better than expected.
Lots of repairs will be in order.
Excerpt:
GULFPORT, Miss. As Katrina pounded this coastal community with winds exceeding 100 mph this morning, police Lt. Mike Shaw answered one last rescue call.
"Old oaks are down on the beachfront, water is up to the second story of some of the motels,'' he recalled. "Signs are down. Power lines are down. Roofs are off.''
A tornado also struck an apartment with 10 people inside, he said, but no one was injured. There also was a report of a family stranded when their roof collapsed on them.
Should have aimed your hose at him. :o)
Shivering at that pic.
TWC just reported that there is 8 feet of water there.
And they also reported that a lot of their "reporters" aren't reporting in any more. ;-(
OMG!!!!!! what is offensive about your post? I'm just glad your ok and your so calm!!!!! Good for you. I know everyone here is glad your ok.
If I thought alligators were about about to crawl into my house was sitting in the middle of a hurricane.. well lets just say my post would be a little more high strung... I would be a total wreck. I dont know what I would be packing up first, my shoes, my cat...Gators in the house!?!?!?!? I would be gulping red wine and looking for the valium...
The power of these things is just unimaginable.

">>Reporter in NO on the rooftops reports white caps in the flood zone<<"
Not just on the rooftops..."hopping" from rooftop to rooftop...either way it's completely insane
