Thanks for the pics! amazing and horrible.
So is he saying that Bourbon Street is under over 15 feet of water???
Think I just heard (WDSY streaming) that the storm surge in/around Gulfport is @ 25 ft. near Hwy. 90
Angels, guide them and protect them!
There were some trees downed last night in Arlington/Lakeland... perhaps that's what's being talked about?
looks like the storm is over there already????
OK . . . let me break this down for the ignorant people who keep saying the worst is over. Hurricanes are more than a wind event. New Orleans is in for SEVERAL MORE HOURS of rain and heavy winds. Stuff that has already been breeched and damaged will be FURTHER DAMAGED as winds, REGARDLESS OF STRENGTH, continue. North wind across Lake Ponchartrain may still drive water over levees or breach them completely, allowing water to pour into New Orleans and its Western Suburbs. People in Mississippi and Alabama will die today as flood waters rise. The surges in Mississippi and Alabama haven't even hit yet. THIS IS JUST BEGINNING!!!
Dodging bullets, they are. Lord help these poor folks!
Thank you!!!!!
CNN has said that the radar in NO is out. They have said that the radar images on the south west are not accurate.
Wow... Just because the worst is over for NO, doesn't mean I'm going to stop watching news. Monday is Hurrince Katrina day for me. I went to the beach yesterday and waves were huge. No one swimming except for the surfers.
Maybe it's just coincidence but then again maybe not. Althea, Camille, Betsey, these things seem to hate marshland and do a jog left or right to avoid it. Mississippi coastline will once again probably get destroyed.
I remember as a kid in the 60's taking a trip down there and seeing a tanker on the wrong side of the road. Whoa.
The rains will send the flooding into overdrive.
It's hard to kill mesquites either. Another southern thing.
It's cloudy and rainy in Middle TN..

(I believe they're small enough to post, but didn't want to risk it.)
