NO still isn't out of harms way. Those poor people have misery to face. I can't even imagine what they will go home to, and some won't have much left of their homes.
I keep thinking of the poor pets that had to be left behind. Me dog cowers and shivers during a thunder storm. I hate to think what the helpless critters are suffering right now. And the childern. They will have phobias forever.
This is still a major tragedy.
That radar picture does make it look like the worst is past. However it appears to show northerly winds on the lake. Soon to be westerlies, though.
I think NO is going to be really wrecked. But not destroyed I am hopeful.
Releasing reserves equal to stalled production would be appropriate.
That's not unexpected. At least it hasn't flooded there yet...
Good.....
I think the average freeper these days is about 23...lol
which is not a bad thing, if they will pick up some cultural conservatism along the way as they age.
just my opinion
I went to bed at 4.
Looks like things tuned down a bit.
I figured they might once Katrina started sucking up the boot of the River Delta
Since the storm is weaker, I think the chance of the disastrous flooding in NO is much less.
But, we won't know until a few hours from now.
Haven't seen any...
Worse in Bay St. Louis than Gulfport, but as best I can tell not a single network put anyone in Bay St. Louis...
Fox: Shep reports people in NO standing on their rooftops in hurricane force winds in order to escape the rising water.
But they don't yet how badly production's been affected. I wish they'd just keep their powder dry 'til they do know.
Hey how's the weather in TN?
The fox news channel just showed a reporter standing in the catholic school yard in Bayou La Batre al. It was blowing 75 mph w/guststo 95 mph.I was talking to my Brother about 2 mls from there and he said it was blowing as hard as Frederick. I attended grade school in th 40 and 50's at that Cathlic school.
As per Fox news..Levee broke in NO.
Me: Believe you are getting into very, very poor taste... (post 1922)
Re: "Prolly. But I tend to strike out at those who strike out at me and love those who love me."
A look at your FR homepage rant makes me kind of understand why you would make such a post... But it is still in very bad taste considering it says "NO personal attacks" right under where you type your post...
It appears that the eye is completely onshore, just east of the MS/LA border.
Someone should tell him that there can only be one Geraldo ;-)
Bush announcing this should help keep the crude futures from going bonkers.
I dunno fer sure, but aren't there refined fuels in the SPR as well as oil?
My alma mater in Starkville's going to get a battering today...winds up to 60mph tonight, sez weather.com.
