To: Mears

Thanks, Mears, for the prayers. My son-in-law is a Lt. commander in the merchant marine on an oil tanker. They have just picked up a load of heating oil at Lake Charles, La. and were destined for the east coast yesterday. He said they were already in the huricane with waves twenty foot as of yesterday. We have no idea where he is right now.

Good Lord! You all must be wreck (I had 2 kids in harm's way on 9-11). The waiting is brutal.

If he is loaded and at sea, then his chances are fine. They have plenty of room in the Gulf to steam south and advoid it with no problem.
