I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
It's a wonder I can even eat jello as an adult with all of the strange food combinations added to various jello flavors. I think my Mom's side of the family tried to outdo themselves at each family dinner by coming up with the most outrageous (and icky) combinations known to man.
I need to get to bed too -- I've got a 10A appointment. Times like this, I wish I could feed my WMP to my television in the bedroom.
You responded: "Seems we adressed [sic] this earler [sic]; this is an unrealistic number ..."
I saw you wrote that the 200 MPH number was "crap."
With all due respects, that is not an answer to the question of whether the specifications given [even if "crap"] contemplates anything other than dry air. If the Superdome was designed to withstand 200 MPH winds, would that design specification ever consider the density of the wind and water striking the structure? I doubt that it would.
He expressed doubt that enough people have taken this storm seriously enough after forty years of false predictions that the latest storm would be the one that puts New Orleans under water.
He said people will only pack up and move to safer ground so many times before they become complacent.
It sounded as though he was staying to ride out the storm. I heard him say up to 50,000 could lose their lives. I don't know if that is possible but what do I know.
Nah. They waited to open the new one until they could jot it down! :)
so this is due to hit 3am NO time? That's 4am on the east coast. I am better off setting the alarm
We are not entertaining you but making ourselves ready for what is to come.
We really cannot just sit here waiting for a post about the vortex and being silent just pposting only important posts.
And wringing our hands is just not in us.
Please don't snap at us, most of us are frightened, have people we love in this storm's path and are truly upset.
Sure. Like here in Fairbanks there is the potential of another flood. There is the Corps dike and all, but last time Fairbanks got drowned, and there are a lot more people here now. What to do by way of some preparation just in case, that's the question. Every place on earth has some kind of natural situation just waiting.
Thanks, Mears, for the prayers. My son-in-law is a Lt. commander in the merchant marine on an oil tanker. They have just picked up a load of heating oil at Lake Charles, La. and were destined for the east coast yesterday. He said they were already in the huricane with waves twenty foot as of yesterday. We have no idea where he is right now.
Speaking of recipes, everybody just grab a barley sandwich and chow down!
It's gonna sound really stupid, but I'll sleep just a tad easier tonight after reading that post.
Shades of silver patterns and all that...
Does anyone know how to make cinnamon toast?
oohh baby, i gave a mock Geraldo segment (which i thought was worthy of at least a little chuckle) loaded with some great adjectives, if i don't say so myself.... it was quite frowned upon apparently... : )
Thanks!
Heh heh,,still hiding out.
