I would have preferred that it wasn't handled that way, but someone ran up and pulled down the sign and there was a collapse of people and cameras around the altercation. After it cleared up a bit, I saw a ripped up sign being carted away and 2 other signs being dragged along the ground by the ProtestWarriors. A crowd of people reassembled on the outside of the rally along with the reporters.
Anyway, here is the sign that was questioned. You can decide for yourself what reaction you would have had toward it, especially if you only saw the top part.
The incident is unfortunate too because of what I've seen since I read this post: MSNBC has a picture of what they called pro-Bush supporters stomping on a opponent's sign (not exact wording but something like that--it's in their slide show). The sign clearly had www.protestwarrior.com on the bottom. I don't think MSNBC realized it was a sign from a Bush supporter, but I'm sure plenty of goons on the left recognized the website. You just hate to give them any ammo.
Having said that, it was NOT PW's best effort, and it is certainly understandable how this particular sign could easily have been misconstrued, given the left's propensity for trying to break up counter rallies by disrupting them.
Minor quibble. I am very proud so many people came out in force to defend the Troops and our President.
Bless you all.
That's not the kind of sign to carry into a Pro-Bush group...it's the one to carry amongst the great unwashed throng.
Uh, heat of the moment??? If you recognized it as PW, then how could you question the intent???
