Could make landfall as a Cat 4 - seems to be weakening and the eyewall is warming. It'll still be hugely damaging, but perhaps not the Doomsday thats being thrown around.

nah I think it is going in as a 5.

The eyewall isn't weakening that much.

there is NOT going to be an eyewall cycle, at least there has not been on where the eye is THIS wide.

What chances it'll even be left standing with winds as high as their predicting?

There will be some damage, but this is not a tornado. The hurricane could spawn tornados, and that would be very dangerous if one heads for the stadium.

If you'll look at the pictures from Camille and see the devastation of the buildings...this was from the storm surge...apts were gone due to the storm surge. That's why I ask the question will the building still be standing...it's not from the winds like I was thinking it's the storm surge. http://www.geocities.com/hurricanene/hurricanecamille.htm
